1st item: English silverplate and faux tortoiseshell waiter tray, oval form having a shaped and pierced gallery with gadrooned edges, the center with silver-inlaid faux tortoise surrounding a central silverplated reserve (not monogrammed), cylindrical handles with applied acanthus leaf decoration, all resting on four ball feet. Three pseudo hallmarks to the base. 6" H x 26 1/4" L x 15 3/4" D. 20th century. 2nd item: An English Sheffield silverplate and mother-of-pearl cased dessert set, consisting of 12 forks and 12 knives with repousse and chased decoration. Housed in a custom box with green velvet and satin lining. Forks: 7" L. Knives: 8 5/8" L. Case: 2 1/2" H x 13" W x 10" D. 4th quarter of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with some light use wear. Some shrinkage and very minor warping to tortoiseshell, most noticeable around the silverplated reserve. 2nd item: Overall very good condition with minimal signs of wear.
