Additionally impressed 2 for gallon capacity with applied floral cobalt decoration and cobalt wash to the stamp. 14 3/4" H. 2nd Half 19th century. 2nd item: Salt-glazed stoneware pottery jug with impressed mark reading W J BROWN/ IMPORTER OF GROCERIES, WINES, LIQUORS, &/ GUELPH C W below the spout for William Brown who was an early merchant in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Impressed stamp with cobalt wash. 9" H. 19th century. 3rd item: 2-gallon salt-glazed stoneware jug, likely Mid-Atlantic, with stenciled cobalt "2" below the spout indicating gallon capacity. 13 1/4" H. 19th century.
CONDITION: 1st item: Approx. 1" circular loss to the side and a couple of fleabites to the base, one fleabite to the handle. 2nd item: A couple of fleabites to the rim and a couple of chips to the base. 3rd item: Approx. 2" tight hairline below the spout and a couple of fleabites to the rim.
