East Tennessee Sheraton cherry chest of drawers, poplar secondary. Consisting of a rectangular top with reeded edge over four graduated dovetailed drawers with cockbeading and small oval pulls, brass escutcheons. Thin half-round base molding transitioning into a shaped skirt and small ring-turned feet ending into a tapered cone. Paneled sides with shaped skirt. Back with inset beveled panels. Appears to retain the original locks. 40 1/2"H x 41" W x 21"D. Hawkins County, TN, circa 1825.

CONDITION: Case with an older refinish. Old repair to upper right stile with pegs visible, upper left and lower left stile with patches and repairs, second drawer divider rail with horizontal patch repair, left back corner of top with break and loss, lower left foot base stile replaced but turned tapered foot appears original on this foot as well as other three feet. Drawers with losses to cockbeading, each drawer with slight buildup to sides, drawer supports replaced, later pulls.
