Edgar Britton (American, 1901-1982) bronze sculpture, “Theseus and the Minotaur,” 1970. Signed EB lower left. Mounted to a burlwood block set atop a flat square bronze base. A copy of a 1972 Denver Museum of Art exhibit brochure featuring sculpture by Edgar Britton and Paintings by Gene Matthews accompanies this lot. It appears to show this sculpture, but a different base. (The edition number is unknown). 17 3/4 in. H (overall) x 16 in. W x 6 in. D.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. A couple of scattered small spots of oxidation up to 3/8 in. diameter.
