Lot of 5 southern decorative arts items. 1st item: 2 Rude Osolnik (Kentucky/American, 1915–2001) bud or weed vases, 1 poplar and 1 cherry. Both signed “Osolnik Originals.” Approximate dimensions: Cherry: 3 3/4 W x 4 1/2 in. H. Poplar: 2 1/2 in. W x 3 1/2 in. H. 2nd item: Charles Counts (Tennessee/American, 1934 -2000) art pottery vase, ovoid form with incised decoration cut through a dark slip. Approximate dimensions: 6 in. H x 6 in. W. 3rd item: Pair of candle holders, with foil sticker underside “Genuine Smoky Mountain Handcrafts Don Ward’s Gatlinburg Tenn,” after Rude Osolnik form. Don Ward’s sold local artisan-made goods, including from Gatlinburg’s Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, where Osolnik was an instructor. 8 in. H x 2 in W. Late 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Irene Sullivan Estate, Oak Ridge, TN descendant of the Callahan family of Knoxville, TN.
CONDITION: All items in very good overall condition. Light scratches and wax residue to candle holders.
