Two (2) Peti Clements (Alabama, 1911-1999) Black Americana folk art paintings, acrylic on canvas (laid to board), depicting farm scenes. 1st item: Painting titled "House on the Side of Road" depicting a clapboard house with a flower-lined walkway, chickens, and a young girl playing with a dog, signed lower left. Additionally signed, titled, and dated 1998 en verso. Housed in a simple wood frame with green highlights. Sight: 3 1/2" H x 6 3/8" W. Framed: 5 1/2" H x 8 1/4" W. 2nd item: Painting titled "Monday AM" depicting a woman working on a table left foreground and a small farmhouse with a barn atop a grassy hill. Signed, titled, and dated 1998 en verso. Housed in a molded wood frame. Sight: 4 5/8" sq. Framed: 6 1/4" sq.
PROVENANCE: Private Alabama Collection.
CONDITION: Both Paintings are overall in very good condition. The paintings do not rest evenly in the frames, and both upper right margins are visible.
