1st item: Silver-mounted miniature horn vinaigrette having a repousse thistle cover set with a crystal, opening to a pierced grille, with suspension chain. Unmarked, likely Scottish. 1 5/8 in. W not including chain. 2nd item: Rare silver Porte Crayon set with a vinaigrette end having a pierced gilt grille. One possible small illegible hallmark to interior cover, otherwise unmarked. 3 1/2 in. L. British or Continental. Both items 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Ian M. Mathison, Murfreesboro TN and Big Rapids, MI.
CONDITION: Grille to horn vinaigrette will not open. Scattered spots of oxidation/discoloration to porte crayon.
