William IV gilt sterling silver “Castle Top” vinaigrette of rectangular form, depicting Abbottsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832), in high reserve to one side, and engine turned decoration to reverse, with vacant monogram reserve. Gilt pierced foliate scroll grille; raised foliate borders and sides. Hallmarked for Thomas Shaw, Birmingham, 1833. 1 5/8 in. W. (4.3 cm). Weight .97 oz troy.
