Labled French violin, after Fracois Salzard (1808- 1874), paper label inside reading "Francois Salzard" and branded "Salzard" below button on the back. Old red varnish.Table likely spruce, back, handle, pegbox and scroll maple. Housed in a contemporary zippered case. 23 3/4" L. Late 19th/Early 20th century. Condition: Old crack separation to upper bout and purfling, wear to edges, varnish on back and neck. Replace bridge. One string missing.
