Antique Saryk Turkoman Ensi prayer rug, wool on wool. Central cruciform design with two central mihrabs, flanked top and bottom by a wide inner border with flowering branch and geometric designs, all surrounded by three primary borders. Wide woven flowering branch elem border at the base. Woven in brick red, blue, salmon, and cream colors. 7 ft. x 4 ft. 9 in. Circa 1890.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Scattered pile wear to margins and losses to fringe and heavier wear to one end.
