Samuel Kirk (Baltimore, b. 1793 – d. 1872) coin silver covered bowl on pedestal foot, possibly a sugar bowl, of circular form with repousse floral cartouches on each side, the cover with pomegranate finial. Stamped S. KIRK in rectangle, and "10.15" in serrated rectangle for coin silver, to underside of base, and inscribed "Presented to M.A. Hatch by F.A. Clifton", also to underside, in script. 7 1/2" H x 6" diameter. 23.39 troy ounces. Circa 1840.
CONDITION: Possible small annealing flaw or repair at joint between bowl and pedestal stem; possible monogram removal to one cartouche; a couple of very tiny scattered dents; finial very slightly bent.
