Chinese white jade Guanyin figure, depicting the Buddhist goddess of compassion rising from waves and surrounded by vines and flowers. A black inclusion at her feet is carved in the form of lotus or fungi. Includes fitted, silver wire inlaid hardwood stand. Sculpture: 8 1/4" H. Overall with stand: 10" H.
PROVENANCE: Collection of a Nashville Physician.
CONDITION: Small area of roughness indicating possibly tiny chip to one leaf of black lotus. Otherwise excellent condition.
