Two (2) Marc Chagall (French/Russian, 1887-1985) lithographs. 1st item: Color lithograph entitled Mother and Child Before Notre Dame, from Visions de Paris published in Verve, vol. 8, no. 27-28, December 1952. With black and white lithograph entitled The Seine Bridges (Mourlot 80) en verso, as issued. Ref.: Mourlot 82. Housed under plexiglass in a modern giltwood frame with cream textile mat and gilt reveal. Sheet: 13 15/16" H x 10 1/2" W. Frame: 24 1/2" H x 21" W. 2nd item: Color lithograph entitled Printemps de Lumiere, from Les Quinze Dernières Lithographies de Marc Chagall, 1984-85. On Arches paper with deckled lower edge and watermark, lower right. Apparently outside the edition of 50 numbered prints with stamped signature and Atelier blindstamp. Inscribed "M1047- MCH509X-8" in pencil en verso. Ref.: Mourlot 1047. Housed under plexiglass in a modern giltwood frame with cream textile mat and gilt reveal. Sheet: 25 1/2" H x 19 5/8" W. Frame: 29 1/4" H x 26 1/8" W.
PROVENANCE: Vanderbilt Hillel, from the Benjamin D. and Ruby G. Schulman Foundation.
CONDITION: Both items in overall very good condition with strong colors. Frames with negligible abrasions. 1st item with minor toning to extreme edges of sheet, not visible framed. 2nd item with slight soiling to margins plus faint areas of red, pink, and green ink likely from printing, not visible framed.
