Two (2) English Boxlock Over and Under Tap Action Flintlock Pocket Pistols, including one (1) P. Bond, .47 caliber, and one (1) Hickman, .45 caliber. Left side of lock plate stamped with maker's marks "P. Bond" or "Hickman" surrounded by engraved images of flags, right side with additional images of flags, P. Bond pistol stamped with "No 45/Corn Hill/ London", faint line engraving to muzzles, and "2" and "3" to left side of breech, Hickman pistol barrels stamped "1" and 3", proof marks to underside of breech. Walnut slab-sided stocks, round barrels, iron mounted with foliate engravings to frame and underside of trigger guard, P. Bond pistol with blank German silver shield-shaped inlaid escutcheon to grip. P. Bond: barrel length: approximately 2 1/2"; overall length: 7 5/8". Hickman: barrel length: approximately 3"; overall length: 7 3/4". Both early 19th century.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with varying degrees of pepper pitting to metal. Stock with dings, Hickman pistol with minute area of loss to left side of grip near frame, P. Bond pistol left side of grip does not sit flush. Some screws slightly buggered. Action holds at half and full cock for both pistols. Bores are dirty with visible rifling.
