Large Old Sheffield plated meat dome on warming stand. Oval form cover with finely chased acanthus leaf handle terminating in lion masks and paws on a foliate molded base and gadrooned band at lower mid-section. Engraved antelope head crest. Double Sun face marks, attributed to Mappin & Webb, stamped to the underside of the lid near the handle. Warming stand with deep well and hot water compartment, scrolled wooden handles, and four circular feet, is unmarked. Armorial crest engraved on the top of the rim with engraved feather crest on opposite side. Cover: 10 1/2" H x 20 1/2" L. Stand: 25" L x 18 1/2" W. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Richard J. Eskind, Nashville.
CONDITION: Both pieces are in overall very good condition, with some surface scratches consistent with use. Dome may not be original to the stand.
