New York Federal Coin Silver Tea Service, comprising a Neoclassical style teapot with horn handle, matching sugar bowl with urn finial, and creamer, all of oval form. Each with engraved cartouche of cornucopia and flowers, monogrammed EOW, to one side and armorial crest with cow head to reverse. Teapot marked P RIKER / NEW YORK with lion psuedohallmark; other pieces marked RIKER & CLAPP and R & C with lion pseudohallmarks, for Peter Hendrick Riker and Philip Clapp, working in partnership 1802-1808. Teapot 8 in H x 13 in W x 5 in D. Combined weight: 46.24 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: Private Georgia collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Partial age crack to teapot handle. Teapot has some stubborn black residue to interior.
