1848 needlework house sampler stitched by Amelia Ann Hendy, aged 13 years, attributed to New Jersey, silk on linen, flower vine border or fence to three sides, base of green below three-story gold brick house with green shutters, center flower vase and large flower vases to each side of house, fruit basket at top and trees and two flower vases surrounding maker's signature "Ameila Ann Hendy Her Work Aged 13 Years 1848". Housed in a burled wood frame with gilt inner liner. Sight – 11 1/2" H x 9 3/8" W. Framed – 14 1/8" x 12 1/8". American, mid 19th century. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Some toning to linen.
