Antique Bidjar area rug, 110-1/2" x 69-1/2", 36 lbs, wool on cotton, large floral palmetes on dark blue ground, cream colored primary border, secondary colors of gold, claret, greens, salmon, rust, blues and brown. 1st quarter 20th century. Provenance: the collection of Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Slaymaker, Nashville, Tennessee. Purchased from Ran Harris Oriental Rugs, Nashville, TN in 1979. CONDITION: Two patched areas, 5" x 2-1/2" along border and 7-1/2" x 5-1/2" along one end border. Some wear to two corners. Overall uneven wear, some corduroy effect. Some corrosion to dark color, wear to edges and abrash. Surface grime.
