Black painted cast iron hitching post in the form of a long tree trunk having cut branches with two looped branches at top of post. 60 1/2"H. Late 19th century, possibly Kentucky. Provenance – Lexington, Kentucky area collection. Condition: Wear to black paint commensurate for age, lower section of post filled with concrete. Some oxidation on lower third of post shaft.
