Two (2) Serge Matta (French, 1910-1984) original ink and watercolor couture fashion illustrations, circa 1950. One drawing depicts a model in a blue formal gown, the other a model in a gray suit with pink accents, possibly for Schiaparelli. Blue gown drawing features an Atelier Serge Matta stamp lower right. Both are matted under plexiglass in matching silver-gilt frames with labels en verso for Jane Stubbs, Bergdorf Goodman. Both sights: 18 in. H x 12 in. W. Both frames: 26 in. H x 20 in. W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Elisabeth Hardin, Gadsden, Alabama, acquired from Bergdorf Goodman.
CONDITION: Both sketches with creasing and some faint staining to paper. Not examined out of frames.
