Three original fashion design illustrations including two watercolor and ink drawings by Serge Matta (French, 1910-1984). The Matta sketches include a full-length drawing of a mermaid in sheer gray gown, with Atelier Serge Matta stamp lower right, and a half length drawing of a woman in hooded pink coat with blue gloves and yellow hat. Both are matted under plexiglass in matching silver gilt frames (Sights: 18 in. H x 12 in. W, Frames: 26 in. H x 20 in. W.) Both with Jane Stubbs/Bergdorf Goodman labels en verso. Circa 1950. The third drawing, by an unknown artist, depicts a model in pink and gray striped blouse and black skirt. Unsigned. Matted and framed under plexiglass in a black acrylic frame. Sight: 11 in. H x 5 in. W. Frame: 17 in. H x 13 in. W. Circa 1940.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Elisabeth Hardin, Gadsden, Alabama. Acquired from Bergdorf Goodman.
CONDITION: Matta works with some scattered staining and creasing. Third drawing with light toning.
