Signed with initials “JFH” with possible date 1845 lower right. Molded parcel gilt wood frame. Sight: 27 in. H x 35 in. W. Frame: 32 in. H x 41 in. W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Elisabeth Hardin, Gadsden, Alabama.
CONDITION: Light craquelure throughout. Multiple small patch repairs and spots of retouch scattered throughout, mostly to background but also to crouching groom’s right pant leg. Area of flourescence between signature and date.
