Pair (2) of Chinese Famille Verte palette porcelain floor vases, baluster form with galleried rims. The wide-lipped rims with interior enameled foliate decoration and an exterior jagged leaf-tip border, the neck with long reserved panels of figures within gardens at various pursuits, the body with a variety of shaped reserved panels with figural, landscape, and architectural images, all separated by a diapered grisaille foliate design and resting on a slightly flared feet with pendant leaf tip decoration, the shoulder reserves with gilt trim. 35 1/2" H x approx. 15" W. 19th century or earlier.
PROVENANCE: A Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: One vase with old restoration to the rim, with some paint exfoliation noted to the rim. Scattered wear to enameled decoration commensurate with age. No other repairs noted under UV light inspection.
