Kentucky walnut sugar chest with tapered legs, poplar secondary having molded lip top, pegged case construction with interior divider, and diamond inlaid escutcheon. Found in Vanceburg, KY. 30 3/4" H x 24 3/4" W x 16 5/8" D. Circa 1840. CONDITION: Top of interior divider board missing. Missing hasp for lock. Both hinges are replaced. Strips on bottom of case are possible later additions. Escutcheon replaced, older refinish. Some general wear to case.
