Lot 573: Moll 1714 Map of Italy, with Erupting Volcanos

Moll, Herman: A NEW MAP OF ITALY, 1714, large hand colored copper plate engraved map on laid paper, depicting the entirety of Italy, with images at left of erupting volcanos Mt. Vesuvius and Mt. Aetna and a stable Mt. Aeolius. Matted and framed under glass in a woodgrain frame. Sight- 25"H x 40"W. Frame – 32 1/4"H x 47 1/4"W.

CONDITION: Overall good condition. Some creasing and uneven toning, especially at center; large spot of foxing lower right, other scattered minor foxing; sticker residue upper right corner (atop glass). Not examined out of frame.
