Country music singer Hiram King “Hank” Williams (1923 – 1953) signature and inscription reading “Best Wishes/ Hank Williams/ Sept. 19th” together with an early royalty statement from MGM Records, dated 2-28-49, showing the royalties that Williams earned from the songs Never Again and Lovesick Blues, Williams’ first record to sell a million copies. Both items are framed with a photo of Williams performing with his band on Grand Old Opry radio. Contemporary ebonized wood frame, 20 1/2 in. H x 32 in. W. Note: This lot retains the original receipt and letter of authenticity from Ed Penny, owner of Dad’s OId Book Store in Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: The signature placard is in very good condition—royalty statement with toning to paper, losses along the upper margin, and tape residue.
