Thirteen (13) CDVs of Civil War and Kentucky interest. Includes 1 CDV of Confederate General John Cabell Breckenridge (1821-1875). In addition to his war record that included the Battles of Shiloh, Stones River, and Missionary Ridge, Breckenridge was also the 14th and youngest ever Vice President of the United States (1857-1861), represented Kentucky in both houses of Congress (1851-1861), and finished out the Civil War as the 5th and final CSA Secretary of War (1865). CDV backstamp of Charles D. Fredricks & Co, New York. Other subjects include CSA Congressman Henry Burnett of Cadiz, KY (8th KY Infantry); CSA Gen. Thomas Taylor; U.S. President from Tennessee Andrew Johnson (with backstamp "Painted from life by J.W. Dodge and published by the artist, 713 Broadway, NY"), Robert E. Lee, Henry Clay, Mary Todd Lincoln, Martha Washington, George Washington Abraham Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln reading with members of his family (2), and a silhouette CDV of George Washington (backstamp of McAllister & Brother, Philadelphia).
CONDITION: Overall good condition with light handling wear. Couple of small light spots on Breckenridge CDV in background.
