Three (3) U.S. Civil War era swords. 1st item: 1862 Artillery saber, possibly Ames Mfg. Co, ricasso stamped a worn manufacturer''s stamp and "U.S. / A.D.K / 186[2 or 3]" to other side. Brass hilt with wire-wrapped leather grip. Blade: 32" L, overall: 37" L. 2nd item: Model 1840 wristbreaker Sheble & Fisher Philadelphia cavalry saber, ricasso stamped with maker''s mark, brass hilt with three branch guard stamped "30 F 12," and wood grip. Blade: 35" L, overall: 40 3/4" L. 3rd item: Model 1860 Henry Boker Solingen cavalry saber, ricasso stamped with maker''s mark, brass hilt with three branch guard and wood grip. Blade: 34 1/2" L, overall: 40 1/2" L. All mid to late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Oxidation, light pitting and scattered nicks to blades. 2nd item: Shrinkage to wood grip, some remaining leather to lower grip. Outer branch on guard slightly warped. 3rd item: Grip slightly loose, does not retain leather on grip.
