1st items: One (1) Naval Officer''s sword marked Horstmann Philadelphia & New York near base of blade, marked "Iron Proof" to spine, and ricasso stamped with crown marking for Gebruder Weyersberg; blade decorated with military motifs and foliate engraving. Brass hilt with wire-wrapped shagreen grip and pierced foliate design and "USN" to guard, dolphin head decoration to end of guard and quillon. 2nd item: One (1) Model 1850 Field Officer sword marked Kittredge & Co to ricasso; military motifs and foliate engraved decoration to blade. Brass hilt with wood and leather-wrapped grip. 3rd item: One (1) Model 1850 sword with illegible inscription on spine of blade near hilt. Brass hilt with pierced scrolling foliate design to guard and wire-wrapped wood grip. Overall lengths range from 34 1/2" L to 38 1/2" L.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: All with areas of oxidation to blades and hilts. Scattered dents, nicks, and pitting to blades. Loss and wear to shagreen and leather on grips. 1st item: Loose guard and loose wire to shagreen grip. 2nd item: Hilt slightly loose.
