Persian Serab tribal runner rug, wool on cotton with a dark blue central field featuring eight medallions in alternating colors of rust and ivory, various animals including birds and horses and figures including figures on horseback. 3 main borders, secondary colors of blues, ivory, taupe and salmon. 15' 5" L x 3' 4" W. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Griff and Dallas Adams, Johnson City, Tennessee. Property descending from the collection of TN Supreme Court Justice Thaddeus Cox and Pearl Cox, originally housed in "The Oaks", Johnson City, TN.
CONDITION: Overall use wear, fringes are absent and one end with losses to rug extending into the border, scattered losses/wear to the sides.
