US Model 1816 Full Stock Smoothbore Musket, manufactured in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, circa 1820-28, with early percussion conversion. Caliber measures .69. Lockplate marked "Pomeroy" under eagle for Lemuel Pomeroy, and "1820" date above "US". Retains bayonet. Carved initials "CS" on both sides of stock. Approx. Overall 58" L; Barrel 42" L.
CONDITION: Wear to the metal components and scratches in wood consistent with age and use. Carved initials are likely later. Action is good, hammer holds at half and full cock, releases with trigger pull. Bore is fair with minimal pitting.
