Eagle head pommel militia sword. Blade with engraved foliate decoration, brass hilt with pierced scalloped shell quillon design and carved bone grip. Blade: 30" L. Overall: 35 1/2" L. Probably American, first half 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Oxidation and nicks, pitting to blade. Grip and brass ferrule loose. Grip with small replaced section, 1" x 1 1/2".
