Five (5) Tarzan books inscribed and signed by the author, Edgar Rice Burroughs. 1943 Grosset & Dunlap “Madison Square” wartime editions. Titles include: TARZAN OF THE APES [314pp]; THE RETURN OF TARZAN [314pp]; THE SON OF TARZAN [312pp]; TARZAN AND THE JEWELS OF OPAR [350pp]; and TARZAN THE TERRIBLE [301pp]. Each signed by Burroughs on the front free endpaper, four are inscribed “with best wishes” to the previous owner; Tarzan of the Apes with the inscription “For Charlie Adams, who can learn to read with this, as my three children did.” Red decorated cloth boards with black lettering on covers and spines, each 7 1/2 in. x 5 1/4 in.
CONDITION: Dust jackets absent. Each with minor soiling, toning, and fading. Pages browned with age, not affecting signatures.
