Lot 536: 5 Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan Books, Signed

Five (5) Tarzan books inscribed and signed by the author, Edgar Rice Burroughs.  Each are early Grosset & Dunlap editions, and include: TARZAN OF THE APES; THE RETURN OF TARZAN; THE SON OF TARZAN; TARZAN AND THE JEWELS OF OPAR; and TARZAN THE TERRIBLE. Each signed by Burroughs on the front free endpaper, four are inscribed “with best wishes” to the previous owner; Tarzan of the Apes with the inscription “For Charlie Adams, who can learn to read with this, as my three children did.” Red hardcover boards, each 7 1/2 in. x 5 1/4 in. 

CONDITION: Dust jackets absent. Each with minor soiling, toning, and fading. Pages browned with age, not affecting signatures.
