Two (2) American swords. 1st item: One (1) cavalry sword or saber with engraved floral and military motifs to blade; brass hilt with reverse P shape guard and carved bone grip. Comes with an associated brass-mounted leather scabbard with two suspension rings. Blade: 30" L. Overall: 34 1/2" L. 2nd item: One (1) eagle head pommel sword or saber with engraved floral and military motifs to blade; brass hilt with reverse P shape guard and carved bone grip. Blade: 28 1/2" L. Overall: 33 1/2" L. First half 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Areas of oxidation to brass. 1st item: Light oxidation and pitting to blade. Loose ferrule on hilt. Wear to leather of scabbard. Chape appears to be replaced. Scabbard may not be original to the blade. 2nd item: Moderate pitting, nicks, oxidation to blade.
