"Side slapper" .45 caliber percussion long rifle with full stock, 34" octagonal rifled barrel, ramrod, brass bead front sight, buckhorn rear sight, engraving on lock and hammer. With brass trigger guard, patchbox, buttplate, fore-end cap, ramrod guides, and inset plates on cheek rest and top. No visible markings. Overall: 50" L; Barrel: 34".
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Hammer sets and releases with trigger pull, stock in very good condition with small cracks on right side along lock, shows signs of refinishing. Lock plate with slight stress crack under hammer and loss directly behind. Bore with strong rifling.
