ORLANDO FURIOSO, Ariosto Ludovico, Venice: by Gabriel Giolito de Ferrari, 1547. 8vo, bound in later full brown leather with gilt design to covers, gilt foliate and lettering to spine. Title page within an elaborate woodcut frame; with multiple illustrations inside the text at the beginning of each canto and throughout. 6 1/4 in. x 8 1/2 in. x 2 in. Ludovico Ariosto’s (1474 – 1533) Orlando Furioso is a16th century epic Italian poem, written as a sequel to Orlando Innamorato, an earlier incomplete work by Matteo Maria Boiardo.
