1st item: An Edwardian English sterling silver covered soup tureen, Neoclassical oval form raised on an oval pedestal base, having reeded borders, and two squared-top loop handles. The side with engraved coat of arms and the lid with foliate loop finial. Tureen side hallmarked for George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, city of Chester, 1902. 9 1/2" H x 14 1/4" L x 7 1/2" W. 42.70 troy ounces. 2nd item: George V sterling silver soup ladle with rounded handle. Back of handle with engraved coat of arms and hallmarks for Charles Boyton & Son, London, 1928. 13 1/4" L. 9.95 troy ounces. Note: Both items were previously appraised in 1980 by Sotheby Parke Bernet, Inc. A copy of the report is available to the winning bidder.
CONDITION: Tureen is in overall very good condition with scattered light surface scratches and very slight pitting along on side of the base. The ladle is in overall very good condition with light surface scratching.
