Group of four (4) carved and painted duck decoys including: two (2) decoys by August Heinfield (MD, 1883-1952) including a canvasback drake and a red-head drake, both signed on the base; one (1) drake canvasback decoy attributed to Henry Lockard (MD, 1868-1944), branded RNC on the base possibly for Robert N Coleman with paper label reading Henry Lockard; and one (1) drake canvasback decoy with wide bill branded RNC on the base possibly for Robert N Coleman. Ranging in size from 7 1/2" H x 14 1/2" W to 7" H x 15" L. All decoys 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Both of the August Heinfield decoys with use wear including losses to the painted surface, the red-headed duck with shrinkage to the base. The Lockard attributed duck with light overall wear. The remaining duck in good condition with very slight shrinkage to the base, light grime, and wear.
