Two (2) Sixth-size color-highlighted Tintype photographs of Civil War Union soldiers. 1st Item: Seated Union soldier with Hardee hat pinned on one side, hands crossed, and revolver tucked into his belt. Highlighted in gold are his hat’s infantry bugle and Company C designation, belt buckle, buttons, cuff links, shoulder scales, and breastplate. Housed in wood/gutta percha union case. 2nd Item: Seated Union soldier, an older gentleman with graying beard, with revolver in hand and sheathed knife at his belt. Highlighted in gold are his Kepi hat’s insignia, his coat’s buttons and cuff links, and his US belt buckle. Housed in wood/gutta percha union case by Littlefield, Parson & Co. Both cases approx. 3 3/4 in x 3 1/4 in (closed).
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Each in very good condition with working hinges and clasps. 1st Item (Hardee hat): image sharp with strong contrast, slight scratches to surface, especially under frame . 2nd Item: slight marks to photo surface.
