Photograph autographed by U.S. Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter. The candid photograph was taken at or just before the memorial service for Hubert Humphrey in 1978 and features the only three living presidents at that time, standing in dark suits and conversing before a fireplace. The corresponding presidential signatures on the mat include personalized inscriptions to Martha Stallings Lagerquist of Nashville, the late owner of the photograph. Ms. Stallings’ father was the founder and president of Capitol Airways. Housed under glass in a black contemporary frame with intentionally distressed silvered edges. Image: 13″W x 10″H. Signed mat sight: 14″ W x 12″H. Frame: 22 5/8″ H x 19 1/4″W.
PROVENANCE: By descent from the late Martha Stallings Lagerquist.
CONDITION: Not examined out of frame. Some possible emulsion lines on Nixon’s suit. Overall very good condition with minor toning.
