World War II Colt Commando six shot double action revolver in .38 special. 4 in. barrel stamped COLT COMMANDO / .38 SPECIAL along left side, and 2 line Colt address on top. Serial number 18971 inside frame and on cylinder crane, manufactured 1942-1943. US Government inspectors’ “Flaming Bomb” stamp on the top left rear of the frame, “VP” proof inside triangle left side forward of trigger guard. Original parkerized barrel, frame, fluted cylinder, cylinder release, trigger, and hammer. Checkered dark brown “Coltwood” plastic grips with Rampant Colt Medallions. Fixed iron sights with rear notch/trench and fixed front blade. Barrel 4 in.; overall 9 in. NOTE: Most firearms made after 1898 require passing an FFL background check prior to transfer. The date of production for this gun makes it subject to FFL rules. Please be prepared with proper identification and information. If you do not reside in Tennessee, an FFL dealer in your state is required to complete the transfer.
CONDITION: Very good overall condition with minor scuffs and general finish wear from handling and operation, concentrated along barrel sides and muzzle, backstrap, and along cylinder. Action functions smoothly. Clean bore with some rifling present.
