US M1 Carbine manufactured by National Postal Meter, Serial 1952188, dating to September – November, 1943. .30 caliber, flat bolt style. Stock stamped with S. A. / S.H.M. (Springfield Armory / Steven H. McGregor) rebuild cartouche, along with crossed cannons mark. 18″ barrel marked “Underwood” with flaming bomb and date “11-43” (NPS did not make their own barrels). Two 15 round magazines, marked “U” and “SP-SG” respectively. “SA” mark on barrel band. 3rd model rear adjustable sight. Type 3 stock with oval sling cut and low wood along slide. Modern replacement sling and double magazine holder. Replaced extractor plunger and spring, ejector and spring, with original interior parts included. Original 1965 NRA receipt available to the winning bidder. NOTE: Most firearms made after 1898 require passing an FFL background check prior to transfer. The date of production for this gun makes it subject to FFL rules. Please be prepared with proper identification and information. If you do not reside in Tennessee, an FFL dealer in your state is required to complete the transfer.
