Attributed to Antonio Ermolao Paoletti (Italian, 1834-1912) oil on canvas painting of a young Venetian boy selling arrangements of flowers on a street. Partially signed lower right (with later misattributed augmentation). Housed in an ornate giltwood frame with brass nameplate. Sight: 23 1/2″ H x 32″ W. Framed: 31″ H x 39 1/2″ W.
CONDITION: Canvas has been relined. With scattered areas of retouching including to area around boy’s left eye, 1″ x 3/4″, and overpainting, especially to wall at boy’s right, 9 1/2″ x 7″. Craquelure throughout. Losses to original signature plus additional, later lettering. See U/V photographs.
