1st item: Victor Peter (France, 1840-1918) bronze relief plaque titled CHIENNE D'ARRET, depicting a female pointer dog. Signed in the plate below the head V PETER. 5 3/8" H x 10 1/4" W. 2nd item: After Alexandre Falguiere (French, 1831-1900) bust sculpture depicting the Roman Goddess Diana mounted on a speckled blue-green marble plinth and bronze base. Diana is portrayed with her eyes closed and one shoulder raised in action. Inscription to bronze base reads "Thiebaut Freres, Fumiere et Gavignot Srs Paris", referencing the studio of Victor-Eugene prior to 1901 in Paris; additionally stamped 9469 to underside of bronze. Signed "A. Falguiere" to rear of left shoulder. 6 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W x 2 1/2" D. French style, early 20th century. 3rd item: Art Nouveau Mercier gilt bronze cat sculpture, featuring two cats peeking out of a woven handled basket. Signed on the rear lower-left corner of basket: "G. E. Mercier". Mounted on light orange marble base with brown veining. 3 1/2" H x 2 3/4" W x 2" D. France, early 20th century
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Dr. Joe Newsom Rawlings, Davisboro, Georgia.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with some wear noted to left edge and errant white marks to lower left edge. Not mounted. 2nd item: Very good condition, light surface scratches on marble, the largest measuring at 1". Slight darkening of patina. 3rd item: Overall good condition, slight surface scratches and minute chipping to corners of marble. Slight grime in indentions of basket weave.
