Pierre Ernest Ballue (France, 1855-1928) oil on canvas landscape painting depicting a sunlit path flanked by a hill and flowering trees leading to a distant, lakeside village. A dense tree line rises to the right with rolling hills beneath a cloud-filled blue sky in the background. Signed "Pierre Ballue" lower right. Housed in a molded giltwood frame with foliate accents and bellflower and diapered center ornaments and flourish corners. Sight: 14 1/2" H x 21" W. Framed: 23 1/8" H x 29 7/8" W.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with minute scattered craquelure and single errant white paint mark lower right, measuring 1" L. Frame with minor age shrinkage to wood and slight wear to corners.
