George A. Carlson (American, b. 1940), "Matachine Dancer at Choguita," pastel painting on paper depicting a Native American dancer in motion, wearing colorful ceremonial regalia. In the background, a second figure watches the dancer before a distant mountain range. Signed and dated "Carlson, 77," lower right. Housed under plexiglass in a distressed silvered frame with white mat and pink, gray, and gilt French lines. With George P. Peters, Santa Fe gallery label affixed to backing. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 12 1/12" W. Frame: 22 1/2" H x 23" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Richard J. Eskind, Nashville.
