Ludovic (Louis Hippolyte) Mouchot (France, 1846-1893) oil on canvas genre painting depicting a group of figures, in renaissance attire, gathered in an interior playing a game of dice around a card table. Signed "Ludovic Mouchot" lower right. Title and incorrect date and attribution on nameplate, lower center. Housed in an ornate giltwood frame with bead course and acanthus leaf decoration. Sight: 19" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 29 1/2" H x 34 1/8" W.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some light inpainting to restored areas in lower margin and upper-middle. Largest area approximately 1". Canvas is lined. Frame in overall good condition with light wear and cracking consistent with age.
