Rendered in a light impasto are the multicolored trees settled on a boulder-strewn valley. Signed “Edgar Payne” to lower right. Housed in a gilt frame with foliate corners. Sight: 11 1/2 in H x 15 1/2 in W. Frame: 18 in H x 22 in W. Note: Lot includes old gallery label with printed biographical information and handwritten information about the painting that identifies the depicted area as “Mono National Forest / Mono Co. Calif.”
