Greg Decker (Tennessee, 20th century), “Pageant,” 2015, oil on canvas applied to board. depicting a surrealist view of six nude figures in a landscape at sunset. One digs a hole while another reaches to grasp the hair of a levitating woman, as another woman and child watch from the ground; the final figure wears a party hat and sits atop a drum, appearing to breathe out fire. A band of multicolored daubs of paint provides the illusion of a frame around the scene. Signed “GD” lower right; additionally signed and titled en verso with personal inscription from the artist. Overall: 20 in. H x 32 in. W.
