Percussion rifle over shotgun combination by J. H. Johnston. Marked on barrel, "J. H. Johnston Great Western Gun Works Pittsburgh, PA" (John H. Johnston, 1811-1889) and also stamped "Cast Steel". Lockplates also marked, "J.H. Johnston". Rifle over shotgun configuration with silvered metal trigger guard, butt plate, and patch box. Tiger maple stock with German silver inlay on cheek piece, checkered wrist grip. 32" barrel, 49 1/2" overall. Provenance: A.R. Dickey Estate, Knoxville, TN Condition: Overall very good condition with old surface. Old crack at upper half of the wrist near base of tang. Ramrods possibly later.
